Great Indian Developer Summit (GIDS) is an annual event for software developers, started on 2008 with the first summit held at Bangalore – Indian Silicon Valley. I attended the Java track in that event, where the other two tracks were Dot Net and Web. That was a useful session for me as I happened to hear the geeks talking about Java technology and able to meet like minded people.

Now GIDS is back for the year 2009. This time it is going to happen @ J N Tata Auditorium on April 22-25, 2009. The different tracks in GIDS are, like the last time, Java, dot Net, web and additionally a separate workshop track. Please check GIDS home page to get the detailed information about the event.

For the last GIDS summit, the main theme was Enterprise Productivity, where IT people were taking session on how to use web 2 features in an enterprise to improve the overall productivity. I could remember some sessions about SaaS strategy also. It looks like this time GIDS is going to be focused on Tools.

So what do you think? Are you going to attend this one? If you attended last Summit, will you go for this one also?

Hey Veera, thanks for the information. I am definitely going to attend the workshops day on the 25th Saturday: http://www.developersummit.com/workshops.html and possibly the Java day on the 24th as well. It will be great to hear from the creator of tapestry Howard Lewis Ship. I am using Tapestry and Clojure in my forthcoming projects.
