Vote for someone!

April 15, 2009 · 0 comments

Yesterday, I happened to be there at Trivandrum East Fort bus stand at evening 5′O clock and got a chance the watch how an election campaigning rally would look like. It was BJP party’s rally where the candidate himself was standing in a Rata and waving to the people (nobody waved him back, that’s another story). As yesterday was the closing day for the campaigning in Kerala, the rally was in full blow. There were a total of more than 10 vehicles (Mini-Vans and Ambassadors), each of them tied up with BIG loud speakers and people sitting inside the vehicles were shouting in the Mic (shouting, not even speaking!) ‘Vote for Thamara’! I almost went deaf, while the rally was crossing me (after getting our votes, the politicians will turn deaf!). But all the noises became silent when the clock ticked 5.

This kinda rally was little different to me, because I’ve seen much bigger rallies in Tamilnadu, even for ward elections. But, in Kerala, I couldn’t hear much noise (except the yesterday’s). Here, most of the campaigning were using a small jeep with tied in speaker and recorded speaks. This is what I’ve seen all these days. :)

And, oh yeah! Tomorrow is a holiday for us!! :D :D
