Google Squared is a new search service from Google, which went live yesterday. With Squared, Google is trying to provide the search results in structual manner. But, how Squared is different from the usual Google searches? Well, when you search for some thing in Google, it returns the results as a list of pages, ordrerd based on their search relevancy and page rank. Squared do a little more here. i.e. it doesn’t give you a list, rather than a table of relevant results, using which you can compare one result with the another. The common attributes of the search results are grouped into the table columns and the results are shown as rows of the table.
Will Squared make any difference?
Keep in mind that google search results are just simple texts as seen in the websites or blogs. But, Squared search results processed and organized into tabular columns. So, if you are looking for some facts or some data points to your analysis, Squared will definitely make your life easy. If not Squared, you will have to manually scroll through the endless Google search results to collect the data points for your analysis. But, Squared does this for you.
Also, Squared can be used to compare products, side by side. For example, try a square search for laptops, it will give you a table of top laptop brands, along with the specification of the laptops.
But, on first look, Squared may look weired and the search results returned by Squared is not of much use now. But as the Squared service grows, it has the great potential to make a BIG difference in web search.
